 Wow! I can't believe this finished so high

Thank you so much to everyone who voted.

A number of people remarked on the clarity...I have to owe that all to the simply fantastic 50mm 1.4 lens.

Handheld, shot using direct natural light from the skylight in my bedroom. Heh, I'm a nature photographer...studio equipment is non-existent in my house :)

My first attempt turned out well, but it didn't really have a foreground/background. Here's my outtake --

This is astonishing, I love this! I love the water on the petals and the two cherries together, embedded in the rose petals, great added touch. Even with color on color, it's eye catching. Is it odd that I find this very romantic and yet somewhat sexual. Would look great framed above my bed.

I love the low lighs, giving the photo the proper depth and interest.

I gave this an 8. Very good detail and color in the petals. The cherries matched well too, just wish they were a little more dominant 'somehow'.

I find this picture so amazingly beautiful that it actually brought tears to my eyes. I can't explain exactly why, but there is something about it that really strikes something within me.

I love the water on the pedals. It adds more texture and makes the whole image more interesting. What I'm not sure that I like is that the cherries are completely overpowered by the red of the pedals. I think that toning down the pedals a bit or finding brighter cherries may have helped the image. Overall though, I like it.

This is beautiful, but I don't have a sense of background as much as I do all foreground, since there isn't much perspective. Having said that, the tones and lighting are gorgeous.
