This is the top of my wife's J'Adore perfume. We found it on our 10th anniversary cruise, and it's become her signature scent.
It was lying on a mirror to produce the double. The reflection wasn't perfect.
Shot in my basement at night with a dark blue sheet hung across two chairs over the mirror. The main lights were two small table lamps with 60W bulbs on top of a dresser a few feet overhead. I also had a flashlight shining on the top aligned with the main axis to light up the bulb.
I'm pretty sure this would look better with a blue glow behind the top bulb, but I couldn't make it work.
Editing steps: a mix, not necessarily in order, of cloning out dust and some reflection imperfections, burning several bright spots, rotating, cropping, noise reduction, USM, and curves |

excellent choice in subject! wife has a bottle of j'adore - didn't occur to me to use it in the challenge. i love the viewpoint, and the suggestion from the title it might be a shot of an alien city. it works... i feel having a black background is a bit of a missed opportunity - a print of a galaxy, martian landscape or even lightning between the tops might have added it's sci-fi ness a bit. but still, great macro and great fun. 8. |
