 i walked past this and the pulsating glow from the dying lightning bug caught my eye. even while being devoured, the light continued. i ran back to my house, grabbed my macro lens and a flash and fired off a few shots.

this is a composite of two similar shots. i expanded the depth of field to include more of the spider and borrowed some of the shadow detail of his victim.
