This grasshopper had a wonderful attitude. Even though he was missing a very important long back leg, he hopped, ate, flew and landed with joy.

Need to make the shot bigger. Nice subject.

First of all, I have two words for you: TOO SMALL. This is barely a thumbnail image. If I were taken a picture of this katydid, I would go around carefully to the other side of the fence, in FRONT of the insect and get closer. It looks too much like the insect is getting away from us, rather than getting intimate with us.

Nice composition (small but perfectly formed!). Obviously it would be nice to see it closer/larger but it's a good shot.

Picture is too small as I'm sure you are being told by others. I can't make much detail in the grasshopper. It seems well composed and I like the dull faded colours of the fence contrasting with the bright green of the insect.

The composition and the framing are excellent...I just wish it was a little bigger...

This might be better if it were a larger photo. The composition is good.

sorry to be too small. I like composition, color and subject. Good luck. 8

such a small picture for a small animal doesn't work well.

Your entry could hae been much larger and still been within the site parameters. I did the same thing with my first entries. You will have to do a little bit of trial and error to get the resize as large as the site will accept. This is a very well done photo, the wood is a perfect contrast, but the size will cost you at least 4 points.

I think this would be quite a spectacular photo if we could see it at a reasonable size. This is way too small to judge ... you can size it up to 640 px on the longer side here. But I'm sure you are getting the comment plenty of times. From what I can see, I like the very uncluttered background and the old wood gives some nice additional texture.

Because the photo is so small, you can't see much. Can you make the picture bigger next time? I like the fence, the gap, and the hopper -- I just wish I could see more detail.

You have an eye for this...I'd like to see more of your work!

could have been a interesting composition with the split in the fence like that, but I'd like to see more details. get in closer next time.

I see that you have the little grasshoppers eye right in the middle of your picture, personally though I would have preferred a slightly bigger image of the grasshopper (zoomed in a little bit more) so that I can see more detail. On a technical note your focus appears fine with a blurry background. Maybe you have a little bit too much fence in the picture, as that too is in focus and due to the size of the grasshopper is a little bit distracting to me.
Overall a very high-quality picture just a little bit too zoomed out for my tastes.

Nice, clear shot. I would liike to have seen a bigger picture to show more detail, but it's still a very nice shot! :)

Image is much to small to tell, which is very unfortunate, it looks like could be very good.
