Big Sur, CA
I found this on the way back from a backpacking trip up into the redwoods.

After Challenge: Thanks for the comments. I noticed a lot of them suggested that I take the shot of the waterfall from the beach. I would LOVE to, but unfortunately there are shear cliffs on all sides and no one is allowed on the beach for safety reasons. Yes, the water is that turquoise blue in the cove, and I can only figure that is because there are no rocks and only sand right there.

Great job! I love when a shot can just up and carry me away to that place, or make me wish I was there. I love the true colors of the tropical water. I loved how you captured the tones of the deep water, and the aqua of the reef-protected beach. I loved the whitecaps, the shades of the sand where it's wet, damp and dry. I especially like the tiny little 'hole' at the top of the photo that has a little pool of water that is reflecting the deep tones of the sky. I didn't care for the waterfall. I'm giving this shot an 8.

That looks a nice place for a holiday. But not for me, the wife wants a new bathroom instead :(

Hey, I was just in that area a couple says ago...Julia Pfeiffer Burns Park...we were camping in San Simeon State Park! Too bad you can't get down to the beach level. Ever see pics of Wm Randolph Hearst down there on horseback?

nice!

the waterfall seems alsmost incidental when I look at the picture. Perhaps a landscape crop from the waterfall to the right to the waterfall becaomes more of a key element in the image?

damn nice beach, colors seem somewhat flat.

Good lord...stop taking pictures and get in that water! Nice...!

Lovly beach view, But I think that if you got down on the beach and got a frontal view of the waterfall it would be better.

I have to say, this isn't a bad photo but as I look at it I just keep thinking - why didn't they get down there and get a nice shot of that waterfall hitting the beach?? 5.

Can't wait to see where that is so I can go there! Interested in details. From a cliff? Do you live there? Nice shot.

I think McWay Falls is better later in the day.

Pfiefer! Good shot of a very often photographed famous waterfall.

Pretty green water. I like the vertical composition. Might've also worked well as a square with top/bottom cropped.
