From the shore of the Great Salt Lake, Utah's ocean! The sky was very smoky from wildfires in California and Southern Utah. When the sun set it turned red. It was hard to get everything sharp because of the smoke but I liked the way it made the scene look.

I didn't edit the picture much. Rotated it a little, used curves just a touch and sharpened a little. Other than that it's close to the original.

This is a great capture. Was wondering how much (and HOPING it wasnt much) was altered and read notes to find there wasnt much alteration. Im sorry to hear the reason for the smokey sky but right above the sun the small cluster of clouds almost looks like handwriting. Im not a deeply spiritual person but the image reminds me of a possible higher power. As if a higher power (at risk of being critisized for saying His name in a public forum) said 'this is it, take it' and it was signed in those clouds above the sun. absolutely beautiful photo. My eye is not a trained one but I am qualified to love it. LOL Dont think it coulve gotten any better. Well done!

Great job! The colors are shocking, and the contrast of colors between the rocks in the foreground and the water/sky/mountains in the background is phenomenal. However, there were a couple of things that knocked this photo way down for me. First, the sky appears to be very blotchy. Not processed well, or overprocessed. Next, a water shot, or even a shoreline shot, does not always mean 'beach' in my opinion. And meeting the challenge, to me, is the first and most important thing, if that isn't done, then anything else is unimportant. Doesn't mean it's not a beautiful and creative shot, because in this case, it absolutely is! I do love it! I went back and forth on how to score your pic, but I do vote low for those that I don't think meet the challenge, so to be consistant, I am voting this lower than I want for the reasons stated above.

Wow! Stunning!! Amazing detail in the foreground rocks considering the light it is up against! Great job.

Nice approach but a little flat in the foreground rocks. Needs contrast.

Colours are too unnatural for me but the composition is good.
