An homage to Uplift by Wasilly Kandinsky, using fruits, vegetables & pasta. Used in this are canteoupe, honeydew, watermelon, strawberry, papaya, potato, eggplant, pasta colored red and black, and a blueberry.

I did some gaussian blur on the background to give it a painterly feel, and I changed the hue of the honeydew - ooh, I like that phrase "hue of the honeydew."

Anyway, this was my wife's idea, and all credit goes to her, but all the blame is on me.

This was my pick for the blue. I gave you a ten. Should have been much higher. I love Kandinsky and you did him well! True abstract too, and there weren't many.

LOL! ... great idea. A slightly tighter crop might have made it more dramatic. 6

this is magnificent. you somehow managed the light or processed it to get painterly tones. 10

Don't have any idea what a 'Kandinsky' is, but your image is fun to look at. Lighting seems a bit off, like the image is underexposed.

This is great. An excellent mind at work here. A top pick for sure, at least in my humble opinion. Going into my favorites :)

I like the arrangement that you have made with the slices of various colour foods. The bits in the corners add wonderfully to the composition. The lighting is rather flat though and does nothing to enhance the overall presentation, IMO.

This is really cool, well done take on the challenge. Colors are wonderful! It seems just a little crooked though, a better vertical and horizontal alignment might be more effective. The thingy in the very bottom left is a little distracting also.

Very abstract! I like the muted colors too. Is the background a melon too?

This is good abstract, not food photography.

Too dark, otherwise nice shot. 1 of a handful of actual abstracts in this challenge.

It's beautifully laid out. Definitely Kandinsky. Photographically it's a little blah, but I like the concept.

my first 9! I would hang this on my wall - Kandinsky was a wonderful artist and you evoked him well...... good job!
