My first reaction when viewing this photo is that it should place high in this challenge. My second thought was that there was so much going on in this shot that DPC voters might not appreciate it. I am glad to see that my first thought was accurate.
I love the colors and the floor boards most. I also think the rustic subject matter adds much charm. The whole photo is excellent, the way various lines work together. The lighting is also perfect.

Beautiful lines Deb! I love that there are just so many to look at. The wood floor plank lines lead you in. Then you sort of follow up the door frame lines and back towards the front. Then up and down the molding pieces and land on the rockers! Pure genius! |

| Quite gorgeous composition for this challenge, as there are so many lines to consider: those between the floorboards, in the walls, the window panes, the bench, all the wood grain, and the angled lines in the chairs. I quite like how the eye is drawn through to the centre of the image, and how the nested rooms add almost a bit of mystery that make us want to know what else might be going on here. My only criticism would be regarding the saturation. For me, perhaps using Curves to add a bit more depth and contrast to the colours and shadows would have enhanced what I see as a kind of relaxing mystery. In any event, a great photo. And I just checked - what an awesome placement! Congratulations! |
