This is just amazing how you did this as I would have no idea if just looking at the image without you comment on how this was done.
I love it and it definately deserved a higher position re this challenge. |

* Greetings from the Critique Club *
Hi Marion. This is an intriguing photo and a great idea for the challenge. You've also captured some great texture with the skin of the apples.
My main gripe would be it's quite dark in the lower centre of the photo. It would of been great to have a bit more light showing through in that portion. Even maybe a little bit more processing just to bump it through there may of created a totally different photo.
This is one of those photos where I find it hard to pin point focus. The moisture on the green apple in the middle looks quite sharp but the red apple to the left looks slightly soft, though it may also be the texture of the apple itself that causes that. The crop you have used has worked well for the subject.
Your photo faired pretty well and you should be pleased with your finish. I agree that I don't think it would be the same if it didn't have the moisture on the apples so I think you made the right choice there. Most of the top placed photos in this challenge were abstract but were still pretty much recognisable in what they were and yours is no exception here. Well done and best of luck with future challenges.
Neil

I guess that food was more important than the abstract art aspect of this challenge; thought this was a good abstract and would place higher..thanks for all the positive votes, though..and thank you for the7,8,9, and 10s...sometimes, I find my interpretation of art gets in the way of my entries...

Personally I think it's great and meets the challenge more than any I've seen thus far in voting. I'll bet it won't be in the top 10 but it sure deserves it. |

great rhythm in this image. a deeper DOF that kept all the pieces in focus would have been nice. |
