ooo great photo. i love the action, it really shows how sneaky and quick the deer can be. there one second, gone the next

Too bad he moved. Sometimes if you leave the motor running a wild animal will stay still longer to try to figure out what the noise is. I understand that the light was low, and you needed to be still with the camera.
Even with the motion it's fine image. Deer are supposed to move, and there was no chance of getting an eye contact shot with the back light anyway.

ai like the shot, too bad its not sharper because it would be a very great image for galleries and stuff.

Great, caputure and colors all the same though.

Actually, we were in a National Park (Yellowstone, I think.) It was at the end of the day and we were on the park road going back to our accomodations. It wasn't very crowded at all. I wasn't driving...just on the passenger side looking out the window (with my camera in my lap.) Suddenly, my sis - who was driving - just stopped and said, "Look!" She just stopped right in the road and I told her to turn of the engine (because I would be using my zoom, and because of the low light, I didn't want any vibration from the car.) I only had the time to take one quick shot...you can see the deer was just starting to move as I took this shot.

It was very cool and I'm glad you like the photo. Technically, it's not the best, but it's one of my favorites from the trip.
