Well this was disappointing. I felt the image was fairly strong and worked a bit to keep areas from blowing out as well as show details in others. It is not a grabber for sure, but I thought it a bit better than it ranked. Back to the drawing board.

In response to your request for a comment on this photograph:

While in general a technically good photograph, with pleasing contrasts, nice lighting, and a composition that shows off the leading lines that are the subject here, it's ultimately a prosaic image, which is perhaps why you didn't get the score you'd hoped for. Add to that the title, and the interest, for me anyway, falls a little flat. That's not to take away from what is, as I've said, a sound image, compositionally and otherwise. But, for me, there is nothing to engage. Perhaps it's a left brain/right brain thing, where some will appreciate the highly structured lines, geometry, etc., and others will be looking for the story behind the image. As someone has said, a truly great photograph has to be a picture of something, while being a metaphor for something else. Not everyone can do that with every image, but in photographs where we are asked to consider lines, shapes, buildings, and perspective, perhaps it's more called for. I still want to say that, overall, it's a technically good photo, and many will very much appreciate just that.

This is my kind of image and woefully underrated. I like the "perspective" - but it's the angles, the curves, the lines, the reflections, and the black and whitedness of it that I really like. Quiet and understated - and well done in my humble opinion.

I like the shapes, and the use of b&w. I think this might be an interesting place to shoot at night.

I like this photo. The use of some filters could have helped make the shadows "pop" out more. Along the railing to the left, there's a lot of interesting lines going on with the shadows. Those shadows could have been even more interesting if they were in higher contrast. There is a little bit of blown out exposure on the wall below the right rail, but it doesn't detract too much. I am guessing the sun was pretty high in the sky at this point. I'd like to see this same photo shot later or earlier in the day, too. Lots of lines and objects to create interesting shadows.

The only other minor detractor I think is seeing the people through the doors. You might have been purposely trying for this, however. It's just my personal preference, though. Good job!
