This is great. So alive. Maybe its the vein-like texture of the petals. The color here is intense, a little more would have been too much. I like the two tone (red/green) background as well, it gives even more life to the shot.

I'd say an abutilon too, aka Chinese Lantern. This link should help, in addition to the one above. Nice image and colors.
