This picture reminds me of the Road of Life - you can't see the destination - what is ahead on the road is always in shadow. At first I titled it "The Road of Life - What's Ahead is always in Shadow" - that sounded a bit preachy and explanitory so I changed it to:

Do you know where you're going to....

That's the title of the theme song from the movie Mahogony - I liked that title a lot but thought that a lot of people might not get it so I changed it again.

This is between Chama, New Mexico and Pagosa Springs, Colorado - it's only a few miles from the tiny place called Chromo, Colorado. It's a lovely vista - I've photographed it many times but this is the first time for DPC.

Editing: Adjustment layers for levels, curves & contrast; shadow/highlight tool to adjust mid-tone contrast; exposure tool - exposure & offset; noise removal; resize; smart sharpen; save for web.

I piddled with curves a lot - you can do so much with it. I just wish I knew what I was doing instead of just playing with it. I had to crop this with less sky than I wanted as there was a piece of sensor dust on my new 30D - will have to clean the sensor before the next outing.

Nothing like the open road. Wish I was on it with my bike. Nice job on this shot.

So much to look at! The eye is nicely led in to the image by the road, where our focus moves to those lovely mountains, and then onto that castle. The lighting is nice and subdued, and a good use of the rule of thirds.
I do though feel as if the image is falling off the the right a little..I think it needs a little rotation to straighten it a little? A great image though. 8

Another great highway photo. I love the feeling of adventure this photo creates. The road goes down and ends going downhill with a dark green possibly forested area ahead, probably dipping into a bit of a valley. Dark, mysterious mountains in the distance, with a hint of light in the sky past them. To the left we have some rocks or maybe even ruins of some kind on the top of a hill. I can't help but wonder what it'd look like up there.

The colours in this photo work wonderfully together to create mood and ambience. Very nice shot.

3D effect stands out in this one; you captured the light well.

This is like looking at two periods of time at the same time. The castle could almost be a considered a distraction from the flow of the road towards forever. Instead, it is a pleasant surprise for a quick visit then the hill brings you back to forever.
