It rained all 4th of July and alot of towns fireworks were canceled. Drove out to a suburb of Columbus to watch the fireworks on Wednesday night. Great display - poor photos. This was the best one I got. I was trying to frame in people sitting on the grass watching but it was just too dark and I dont know what I am doing. Hope this doesnt do too bad.

Wow! I was going thru some images taken with the Sigma 18-125 lens and just had to say this image ZINGS! The fireworks just come at you like they're 3D or something.

...or maybe I'm just trying to talk myself into this lens. ;^)

Seriously, very nice capture.

I voted 6 for this image because I liked the clarity and colors. The complementary green and red was a bonus as far as I am concerned. I would have preferred to have the people in the image too, as I think fireworks are even more dramatic when there is a frame of reference. I would not have added the frame, but I didn't mark down because of it.

Trading post...
I gave this a 6 in voting. I really liked the color combination. I liked that the red had green tips and that the green had the red inside burst. I wasn't really too fond of the frame though.

Trading Post comment:

For a "I don't know what I'm doing" shot, this finished pretty darn well. I think the simple, balanced composition, the crisp colors, and the very clean lines create a very pleasing picture of fireworks, but what sealed the deal was the red center in the green burst and how well that complimented the other burst. Good job with the PP, too.
