The shot was taken in a light tent; collected a few of my old well-used watercolor brushes and tried a million different arrangements: this was the one that worked for me..probably nobody else, either. Levels, hue/saturation, brightness/contrast, unsharp mask, curves, crop.
sorry the brushes aren't clean but I couldn't get the old paint stains to rub off.

Excellent image...like the diagonal...wish you could see the brush ends, but then I suppose the 10 would be too small, and since it is a "10" challenge...8
Meets the challenge very well. I think the lighting is perfect but I don't like the use of soft focus (not sure if it was purposeful or not). I think in this case I'd prefer something sharper. I also wish there were more paintbrushes to fill in the area with the grey tray thingie in the bottom left corner or that it was cropped out. I find myself scrolling the page to remove it from the image I see and definitely liking that better. Nicely done. 5.
