Taken after a forest fire ripped through several neighborhoods in the city where I live. This brick doorway is all that was left standing of this home. In all, 238 homes burnt in this fire, and amazingly there were no deaths or serious injuries.

less intense lighting - will lessen shadowing

hmm.. From just looking at the pic, it's hard to see that this was the result of a fire, and with the wall erect, and strong-looking, it really contradicts the Oops factor, I think. Anyhow, it's dramatic and I like the b&w. =)

This composition has a nice 'ghostly' feel to it. It might add to the picture to soften it a bit.

Good motive, but it shoudn't be in the middle of the picture. Some space more on the left side. So 8.
