I don't know what I was thinking when I had blue filter on. Here is the BW version of the same picture.

Hi Shailesh,

Greetings from the Critique Club!

Congratulations on a very nice photo. I see here a lovely girl in a flamboyant pose that still looks natural. it is full of life and joy and it makes me happy to just look at it!

The cropping is also effective, for it gets us close enough to see her face and eyes clearly, but is far enough away to capture the cute pose. I also like the amounts of dark and light tones and how they build the photo. The background is intriquing and adds to the photo considerably.

I suppose my biggest question is "why blue?" I'm not sure the blue tone adds any personality or mood to the shot, so I just wonder why it's there. Perhaps if she were sad?

Anyway, nice shot and thanks for the opportunity!

David

okay. quick crits.
a closer crop and true black and white would've been better for this.
the posing, expression, and tonality works, though. cute kid, shailesh.

Hi!

I think this is a lovely shot! I do prefer the one without the blue, but I don't thinke the blue hurt your score.

I think it's funny that someone requested validation on this. You told us it was straight from the camera already! Geez...unbelievers. Anyway, it's a lovely portrait.

Don't like the crop off of the two arms. She looks nice!

this is a gorgeous shot, but blue isn't a good filter to use on people. They look dead

Not voting yet, but I think I know that cutie...Shailesh? Wish you had not cut her elbows off, it also looks more blue than black and white, but otherwise I like the composition, and the naturalness in her smile.
