 These flowers grow in the dunes of the Afife beach, in Northern Portugal. They look very desolate and improbable, so I thought this natural scene could be somehow interesting. This was a somewhat difficult shot because the wind was blowing hard, moving flowers and leaves around...

Cropping, levels, temperature, desat a little, then USM in the GIMP. Resize and add border.

Nice overall picture. Good tone, not over done or under exposed. Focus point exactly where it needs to be with a DOF that still lets the viewer know the subject surroundings. Pleasing to the eye.

this feels a little flat desaturated. And if it's not desaturated the light just isn't working for me. I'm glad you used the dark background though. That makes them pop out and that's nice.

5 - Nice scene and composition - just the flowers seem to lack detail, mainly in the color and texture. Also if they were not cropped, or else more selectively/tightly, make this better in my opinion. Like the wave barely visible in the distance.
