Taken at 7.08am just after sunrise, a couple of earlier shots, Highlights on the water from the sun, washed out the image in full color. set some in camera parameters, and increased the shutter speed to try for sepia to tone down the sun, there will be a lot who believe it is too dark, but in my opinion it sets the mood.

Nice shot! I gave this a 6 in voting and I agree that the underexposure worked well here. For an out-of-camera shot, this is a tough one to get right just because it's shot into the sun. Not too dark at all, in my opinion.

I would have loved this to have been placed much higher than this, as it is a really lovely silhouette of the early morning sunrise.....

I think you found a good balance between the darks and the brights with this exposure. The reflections on the water are a tiny bit harsh, but any darker on the left there would be too dark.

Nice sunrise. Wish the sailboat had better exposure and the sun is a tad hot.

Nice scene, but obviously the exposure is a little off (highlights blown, shadows too dark). An external spot meter would have helped in this case as you could have exposed on the sailboat - but not many people have external light meters these days. Good luck!

Stunning silhouette, coming straight from the camera, in this wonderful seascape image.....One of the best ones so far, in this challenge.....
