 Camera set to B&W.didn't de-saturate...honest guv !
taken in natural light,late evening at a slow shutter speed (with much fidgeting and bribes to hold still).I'd only have lightened this a touch and don't mind the cropped chin,had other versions full face but I like the emphasis this composition gives to his (inscrutable?)eyes.

Wonderful portrait. I like the B/W. What a great expression on his face. Such a knowing little smile! Focus and DOF are perfect. I'm truly impressed with some of these no-edits! (this one included, of course!)

great choice going with B+W...wouldn't have worked otherwise, as this kid has a face made for mono :D

This is a great portrait, with an interesting (risky) framing choice. The way it highlights Jon's eyes, and thus his almost sublime expression, makes it a risk worth taking in my opinion. The vital element here is lighting, and without the processing option, better exposure is called for, though the composition of the lighting is pretty much perfect. Great portrait, 8.

The closeness and the angle combined with the subjects slight smirk really add a little whimsy to this photo. I like the soft lighting as well. Very nice!
