In Mankato Minnesotta, is the neighborhood where Maud Hart Lovelace grew up. She is the author of the Betsy, Tacy, and Tib stories some of you may have read as children. What most people fail to realize is that the characters in the books are based on her and childhood friends. When the books speak about goingto their bench to plan, talk etc, this is the actual location of the bench mentioned.
