Meets the challenge and lighting is good. As a standalone picture, it's a bit plain unless you're cataloguing glass paperweights, in which case it would make a good catalog entry.

nice. very good colors. would prefer it werent cut off so close to the bottom of the frame though.

I am hazarding a guess that a better way of photographing this paperweight would be to place it on a piece of black card or cloth, over a small hole, through which a fairly strong light is shone. The light would bounce around the pw and illuminate it very nicely. Background black of course. Even have a child's face peering at it close up with the light from the pw illuminating the face.
