Glass sphere light from below with a halgon flash light covered with a sun glass "driving/contrast" lens. My first submission. The sphere was made by combining glass with copper wire and melting it into said shape.

---Greetings from the Critique Club!---

First impression - Nice backlighting, but I wish I knew what this is.

Nice technique on the backlighting, really brings a glow to the object. I see a bit of reflection on the bottom. I wonder if the composition would improve if there was more of the reflection. Hard to tell.

From a DPC voter perspective, my guess is there isn't anything for the voter to focus on within the glass object. The dark background doesn't give us any context to understand the subject better. Understanding isn't always necessary, but it might help here.

Good execution, a more thoughtful attention to the setting probably would have pushed the score higher.

Nice job on your first entry. Keep 'em coming!

I hope this was helpful. Feel free to contact me if you hhave any questions.

I can feel the heat coming off this photo! The reds and yellows are quite evocative. The moltenness of the blob is nicely conveyed by the way it is slightly flattened at the bottom, too.

There's just a hint of something in the background over on the right hand side, in what looks like is trying to be a black background. This is a little distracting, but it's very faint.

Almost looks like it's melting into the mirror below. It's not quite centered - either needs to be completely, or needs more room on one side; since it doesn't appear to be perfectly round, give it more room on one side.

Nice lighting on this one! I would have liked a more interesting composition where its not so centered in the frame.

nice use of lighting. the subject seems a bit too low in the frame though makes it feel cramped. adding the reflection would have been nice.

would like to see more of the reflection, and either be centered or very off-centered...
