Focus isn't wonderful, but how I got this shot makes me very happy to have it at all.
I was kayaking on the Potomac River on Memorial Day 2006. This bird was sitting on its nest about 30 feet up. I started taking pictures on high-speed continuous drive. I had no idea the chick was up there.
When I got home and started going through them, my first reaction was "what is THAT?"
