I definitely don't want to go into definitions of bokeh, because that seems to court controversy on this site.
However, I looked at your profile, and I think you probably would have scored much higher if you had shot your entry for the Shallow DOF challenge for this one, and this image had been used for that challenge.
That other picture seems to benefit more from the bokeh than this one does.
This picture is still a wonderful photo though. I really do like the use of the DOF, and the composition is really strong. |

| If the flower is taken as a background(tho' it is not blurred) then the picture goes well with the caption. |

| The title enhances the image a lot here, it personifies the subject and shows it in a new light. 8 for the picture, 9 for the title. |

| as for bokeh, I think you captured it here. The foreground (youngin') would be nothing without the blurred image of the full-grown Susan in the background. It shows a bit of a time progression in a way - stages and cycles. good job capturing the challenge! |

| Definitely meets the challenge and exhibits proper bokeh. The subject matter leaves me wanting (not because it's a flower - I have nothing against flowers - it just lacks a "wow" factor for me). Good luck! |
