I'm not entirely happy with this, but it's not a bad photo. I was taking these at a birthday party for my sister-in-law which was being held outdoors in the country. We had a big bonfire most of the night, but this was during one of the calmer points.

Nothing in this image appears sharp, but at the same time it doesn't look like it was deliberately shot to be soft. The silhouettes of the logs aren't particularly interesting, and there is very obvious colour banding in the highlight areas throughout the top half of the image. Removing colour is good if it allows you to concetrate on tonal relationships, pattern, shape or texture - but in this case, the image doesn't really have any of those. Sorry.

The IR can produce some great shots. Not as dramatic in this case.

Wow, love this shot. The smoothness of the flame is great, and how it highlights the logs from inside.
Great exposure levels. My only gripe would be the lack of contrast and perhaps the logs could of been sharper.
