Painted with a 3 led mini-mag light with fiber optic attachment. White balance set to custom (tungsten) and an adjustment layer applied to the complete image. We had a lot of fun painting with light and will continue to explore this very interesting technique.

I agree that the light is a little too bright in spots and theres way too much arm in the shot. I gave it a five which is better than you averaged but generally my low. like a 5 for trying. looking at it here id think more of a 6 or 7 by my standards but for me to have given it a 5 it must have just been lost in comprision to some other really good shot. thats my best guess.

Nice expression on her face. But I see two issues;

- The composition allows her arm to dominate the shot.

- The colour blue is not very attractive when applied to skin... It looks like she's either dead or frozen :)

A few things come to mind here:
1) I think people were looking for some effect as a result of the 30-second exposure. While I hope people gave you the benefit of the doubt that the shot really WAS 30-seconds, they may ask, WHY was it 30-seconds. It doesn't really do much more for us than a 1/60th second exposure (with the proper light of course).
2) Blue is a tough color for skin. She may be a sleeping beauty because she's dead...;)
3) You managed to get some areas too light. Namely her forehead and the crook of her elbow.

Keep trying though. I think the idea was creative.

She is obviously an attractive woman, but the posing of her arm was not flattering. Lighting was ok and even purple hue was alright, but photographer's duty is to be flattering to his/her subject.

I would have cropped in to accentuate her face and that interesting curve of the hair.

She has an intersting glow to her. Nicely done

Interesting idea, but the closeness and the short focal length has overemphasised your model's arm - particularly her upper arm - in a way that is not at all flattering. The blue lighting also highlights skin blemishes and tonal variations in a pretty unflattering way. I think this would be improved by backing off, and then using a longer focal length to keep your model dominant in the frame, but without the perspective distortions. Also a bit more movement, softening or a different lighting colour may help - this image doesn't, in my mind, do your model justice.

Lots of blue??

Not bad, think the crop suits it, as does the midnight blue lighting.

Not really digging the blue hue in this image, I would have voted higher if the WB was warmer.
