The Humboldt Mine offices - long closed and forgotten. It truly is a desolate place now.The funnest part of shooting this - parking in front of the "no trespassing" gate and slipping in through a break in the fence.

This was a pp experiment - using the different blending modes.

Hello from the critique club. What an honor it is to critique your shot here. I think the challenge description is pretty well met here. Although adding a single person in this photo walking away from the camera might very well have added a very good element to this photo. Thats the one thing I would add to this. I like the composition and the post processing is very pleasing. Not over done, but I dont think you could add or take anything away that would make it better. The colors and the contrast is very good. I'm surprised this didnt score over a 6, however with the addition that I noted above it very well may have. Nicely done overall. Good luck with future challenges.

Linda, I am sorry you feel let down with the voting on this. For the record I gave you a 6. But I can see why it was low in voting. The contrast is way to heavy and shadowy causing a false feel to the sky. I like the colours and feel if you had concentrated on a particular area of this building it might have done better. The image is quite busy and with voters you really need simplicity to win their vote.

Anyways...on a positive note...you did better than me lol!

Nice colours which enhance the sense of desolate buildings from a past age.

Very moody sky. This street is waiting for something bad to happen.
