Very moody shot, love the lighting and softness.

I thought this was one of the best. People seemed to vote more for beautiful landscapes that didn't strike me as desolate, so I suppose I'm still learning how this site works ...

I really like this. The pose and the lines of light coming through. Excellent.

I like this, but I find the doorknob and more ornate door at odds with the barren feel that the smooth walls and stark lines give the rest. Possibly a bit tighter crop there? It's a very effective shot :)

This is wonderful. I love his body language and the way the light streams in rays that are just not strong enough to lift him out of dispair. Great shot.

I love this. I can relate to that whole "what happened?" feeling; sinking into quiet despair as you wonder, well, what the hell happened to all those rosy dreams of happiness and fulfilment.

Sitting on the floor is certainly a sign of adult desolation. It's a nicely composed image. I would have preferred it to be a bit grittier and dirtier. It is, IMO, a bit too clean, if you know what I mean.
