 This began as a copy of casualguy's picture "I am Gumball. . .I am CANDY" except i was using a red gumball instead of a blue one. I rarely do exact copies, either because I just can't execute it, or something else shows up. This was a combonation of both.

Then, my light didn't work right, so I was using my thumb over the end of my high tech mini mag light to make it a bit more focused, and got the crescent shape. By moving it around in the frame, I was able to make it look like a road, I think.

Leading lines, rule of thirds, catch-lights - yep, all there!
Technical: Technically OK 1
I think that the xecution lets this image down as there is not enough detail in the ball and its shadow for me.
Wow: Real impact 2
A strong image just let down a little for me in terms of the too heavy shadow on the ball.

This is such a DPC-friendly image that my first instinct was to dismiss it immediately. Simple, bright red, graphically bold, intellectually undemanding, looks great as a thumbnail ... it's got all the ingredients. But I can't condemn it for all that; in spite of first impressions, it actually has some substance to it. And it's beautifully executed, too. 7.

As a thumbnail this looks extremely effective and a great idea. A shame that in full view the focus appears to be slightly soft. Gets points for originality though.

Neat how the shadow makes the pathway...It might've helped if the ball had a little more light on it so you could see more of its colour..just a thought :)
