A beautiful full moon had risen, and I had no tripod. In searching for something stable to place the camera on, I came across a fence to a field, where these horses were peacefully grazing.
AFTER VOTING:
I knew the image was flawed, and I think it got voted appropriately. I did a re-edit to improve it slightly. You can see that here:
Anyway, it's the first challenge I've entered, and I am SO GLAD that I finally did it. I've been registered here for ages, and every week have a look that the new challenge results, but only now did I finally enter one myself.
And I'm hooked. Had such a fun week: anxiously pressing the 'update' button, excitedly reading new comments (always wish there were more).
I can't wait to enter more... |

Probably rather late to be leaving comments but I thought you might be interested in case you don't know.
Close to the Moon, at around the 10 o'clock position, you also managed to catch Antares. |

hee - i initially thought the horses were the snack! (for obvius reasons) the lighting is too dark really. you could fix this a bit using levels (i assume you have photoshop elements) - try 0-1.60-223 on the RGB channel and 0-0.69-219 on the blue channel; i think it might improve the colours a bit without blowing out the moon too much. it also makes the difference between the bush and the grass more obvious, therefore making the framing element more obvious (i initially thought the moon was the thing being framed with other stuff going on). 5. |

nice shot
i like your framing, however i would have loved to see the horses a little clearer,
the moon looks good (right exposure) |

Great composition, but I would have tried to bump the exposure 2 stops, maybe that would have gotten the horses brighter |

To be truly successful, the moon would have to be in focus and not washed out, I think. In the context of the challenge, 'everything' frames a blue background with a blob of ice cream in the middle. The foreground alone is worth 7 though. |

Seems a bit dark and I'm not sure what's framing |

too flat and not really framed. Why not go back in daylight and do the same shot? |

Beautiful!
This is one shot that loses a lot by having to scroll through it, rather than seeing it as a whole (I don't take off points for that - it's just frustrating). That's always a tradeoff in vertical shots - a good size versus the inability of many monitors to take in the whole shot at once. |
