The title is the key! I hope people recognise the play on words. It is nearly 41 years since I last played the Last Post on Remembrance Day for a Church Service. Because I was out of sight, I cheated and played it on the trumpet (my preferred instrument) but upset the CO who realised. It was taped on a 1/4 inch reel to reel recorder and transferred to cassette much later. The photo is of me as a CCF cadet bugler, on parade duty, around 1960.
Taking pictures of shiny objects is a nightmare. This was photographed in the garage, using black velvet as backdrop and table top, and loads of black paper and card to mimimise unwanted reflections. It was lit with one 500W halogen lamp, covered in tissue. Getting enough light on the bugle and not too much on the photo was a challenge. I had to use the custom white balance in the camera but there was no post proceesing at all apart from resizing from 2650 to 640 pixels.
I had to use -2.00 ev exposure compensation.

Thank you commentators for your input - much appreciated.
Yep, the composition was awful. I got so involved in taking the picture, I ignored the little voice at the back of my mind saying "this is a setup and it doesn't look right".
But I have listend to you now and I will try to learn.
Average vote per commentator 8.0 is still great - thank you again!

I had a hard time trying to figure this one out, But finally got it. I still belive it is to set up for my taste. Maybe if you had laid the subjects down and took an overhead shot on an all black background. The photo set up on top of the cassette really ditracts me.

Ireally like the lighting on the bugle but the composition is off. I think that the photo is a bit too small i and the stark white edging is a bit jarring next to the softness of the lighting on the bugle bugle and the cassette doesn't add anyhting to the compositon. You got potential here for an intresting photo , maybe put the photo in a frame or have some other military patches or medals.

The title on your picture deserves a high score in itself! And the picture itself is absolutely brilliant!! GREAT job!!!!!! 10+

This might have been better arranged a little more naturally. It is staged so neat and so linear. Kinda boxy and too much just like reading a list like this, which detracts from the nice warm feel from the bugle and photo. The tape goes against this too...seems to not fit well with the time, the mood, or the colors. Maybe just the photo sitting diagonally with the bugle laying on its side across the top of it, like they were more naturally just set there.
