Nice picture, very close to a ten on my scale, more for the quality of the picture than for the sensation of an empty room.

Nice perspective. Interesting comp. I like that the reflection doesn't include any distractions. Wood color is tough to achieve the contrast needed to give this photo more "pop". My humble opinion.

Good photo but I do have a few issues with it that I think you could of solved and it would of been better. First I will start with what hits me the most, your vertical highlight/reflection lines. They are splitting the photograph up. Example: the line on the right side of the brass fireplace front reflect on the hardwood floor goes all the way through the photograph making it looks like the right side of the photo is on another page. Also there are spots on the nice polished wood floor that in advanced editing could of been cloned out making for a nice smooth finish. I feel your crop is to tight to associate the picture with the challenge. I feel I am standing between to sofa's. I think the picture would of given me a since of empty room if the picture were further away with an wider angle or maybe even of to the side at an angle. Remember I was telling you about the lines splitting up the photo? well the placement of your object (in the middle of the frame) only enhances the splitting feel. I think it would of looked better on the left side. With dodge and burn being an option in this challenge I think I would of burned the left lower portion of the photograph to make it like the right lower side and continue along the bottom so that it would of cut off the reflection lines keeping the photo together.

With all that said you have good focus and lighting and your subject to create interest. Very nice wood finish, both walls and floor. I wish you well in the challenge.

I like the wood floor and fireplace in this photo. The reflections on the floor are great. Nice job.

Warmth is right. I can feel it very well with these warm colors and muted lighting. However, I do not feel the emptiness of the room because such a small part of it is shown.

what's the difference between 'take one thing into an empty room' and 'find a basically empty room with one thing in it'? sorry to be anal, but really...
