Challenge: Take Two (Advanced Editing IV*)
Camera: Canon PowerShot Pro1
Location: my kitchen
Date: Jun 3, 2006
Aperture: f/2.4
ISO: 50
Shutter: 1/13
Galleries: Family, Humorous
Date Uploaded: Jun 3, 2006

I had to get out the trusty old Pro1 because of the wonderful flip screen and remote control.
Sadly, despite the supposed f/2.4, everything was in sharp focus and I had to apply some "fake" blur. I hope that wasn't a mistake :-(
Shot in RAW to make sure I'd get the white balance right this time. I also paid more attention to my background, and had all sorts of lights set up to get the look I wanted.

I enjoyed seeing how much I have learned since then, even with using the "lesser" camera - great challenge idea!

One one of the most improved take twos. Great shot. Being surrounded by siblings who hate to do chores that look isn't too far off from the real thing :) Perfect shot all around. Really underrated :(

::: Critique Club :::

Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.

First Impression - the most important one:
Ok that is one pissed kid ... you have taking on the advice received previously well.

Subject:
Done with style .. meets the challenge well.

Composition:
I think this is interesting ... the arms behaves well as a leading line ... she looks more annoyed and a lot older now ... also well placed on thirds.

Technical (Colour and light):
I really like that the lights are off .. and this caused the full flash impression in the last picture. Her face is sharp and you ahve added blur in the right places and not overdone it.

To grow its vote?:
I think this is great ... pity you needed to use the 'lesser' camera and had to manufacture some of the work .. but it really honed your PS skills.

Summary:
Great work ... I think the improvement speaks for itself.

If you've got any questions about this critique, please feel free to contact me via the PM system.

Cheers

Kari

Good idea for the Point of View challenge. DOF really puts the focus on the model, and nice expression too. Much of the picture is on the right side and unbalanced. If you brought the model in from the left you may have been able to see more of her face without the rack in front of her forehead.
