Freshly picked off on of my very loaded plants. Shot on white poster board with flash and slave with a CD as a reflector :-) I used masking tape doubled over to hold the pepper upright.

Post process:
Levels: Auto, then picked a darker area on background to push to white.
Curves: Pretty agressive S-curve

I am always a fan of these types of shots. In this case, I love it for the amount of white space. I think it adds to the composition. Without so much white space, it would have been just another jalepeno shot. Would have gotten a 9 from me.

I simply can't believe that this is your first 6+ score. What is wrong with the voters around her?

Congratulations on a good finish with this simple, but yet effective photograph.

I like the use of negative space here. The subject is lighted quiet well with the background being pure white without any gradation. Also a good work on setting the white balance correctly to get the whites and true green color.

What I would have changed is the shadow and not let is extend on the right of jalapeno, which I believe would mean a brighter reflector.

In summary, a very well photographed image which deserves a high score

Nice minimalism. COmp is interesting, Lighting seems a bit sharp (a little too much contrast) Might be helped with a bit more saturation.

I love negative space, but this is a little too much for my taste. I do like the lighting, colour, contrast.
