That Big SCARRY wood roller coaster at Knotts Berry Farm. I tried to make it look like an old photo.

The thumbnail looks very dramatic - it looks as if the hood is actually a rollercoaster train coming up to the peak of the hill. That is a very strong visual metaphor or symbol. The actual image is not nearly as powerful due to the train being missing. I like the processing though. How about a re-shoot with a train just coming up and clone out the hood.

the intended nostalgic soft-focus edit I think is successful. The complex crosshatch detail, as viewed from this distance remains somewhat intact, you have made the overlay lines merge in a interesting way. The structure engages the eye, it keeps the ordered design but without a architectural precision. More contrast would probably tend to emphasize negative space, and more accuracy but at the expense of the quiet lighting and atmosphere that is shown.
