Hey there from the Critique Club

First of all, congrats on your second highest scoring challenge entry to date.

Camera Work/Technical: Everything in the frame appears nicely focused, but I think that the post-processing is a little harsh. You finished with a very interestingly textured image, but I think some of your original shot info was lost.

Lighting: I think that your lighting here is near flawless and makes this image dramatic and powerful. You did a terrific hob with contrasting your highlights and shadows to project a warm, moody feeling.

Composition/Content: You also put together a very powerful composition. Both the flower and the lufa work very well as leading lines that draw the eye up and down both sides of the image. The lighting and the twirly thingie add very interesting texture that makes the eye want to see every little portion of the capture.

My Opinion: This one clearly meets the challenge very well. I think with a little less post-processing, you would have preserved some of the image detail, as well as pulled a little better score.

Interesting shot. I didnt vote in this challenge but I would have scored this at least a 6. A little blown out on the tip of the curly thing but the shadow on the other thing is very cool. Good colors and tones and the vignetting works well. Good shot.

65th is better than last.

I think you were robbed. Your submission is definetly better than some of the submissions that got rated higher. That's the subjectivness of this site.

Nice entry, good job on this piece. You should be proud of it.

Matte it, frame it, sell it.

I am not a big flower fan....but,

This is really appealling. Nice comp, great movement, nice lines, great texture, the top of the spirally thng is a bit blown, and the bottom of the stalk of the brown thing is a bit too black, love the crispness, good light, I just like this.

It looks like there are some blown highlights in the yellows and on the curly thing. The compostion doesn't do anything for me. 5

i like the mood here but think it may have been better if you moved the curly thing so that its shadow didnt fall on the loofa looking plant(sorry not a horticulture buff) 6

I find the lighting too harsh and the flower over exposed. I like how the spiral shadow is cast on the subject to the right
