 these are the 3-yr-old cousins of murdered chip ellis, fascinated by one of the 1000s of butterflies released at the celebration of life ceremony held tonight in his honor. chip was a senior at midlothian high school, due to graduate in two weeks. for reasons unknown, he was murdered by a classmate this week. go hug your kids. you can't protect them. you can only love them and pray for them.

this was shot for the midlothian exchange, and will run on the front page of this week's edition.

This puts a lump in my throat, Skip. The kids, the butterfly, the people in the background comforting one-another. So sad. Personally, if I were about to die, I wouldn't mourn for myself, I'd just worry for my two daughters. The children are always the saddest story of all. Pure and innocent victims. :-(
