The dining hall of the Paris Conciergerie. Once part of the first palace of the kings of France, the Conciergerie was the first Paris prison and became famous during the French revolution. Between 1793 and 1794, 2780 men and women were sentenced to death and detained there before being beheaded. Marie Antoinette, queen of France, was among them.
