Hello, Greetings from the Critique Club.
As requested, here is an indepth critique of your submission. Please keep in mind this is a personal opinion.
Hello JP!
First Impression - the most important one:
Different! Strange colors. Weird water at the bottom. Hmm. Interesting!
Composition:
The composition looks great. My eyes follow the lines and capture a lot of details in the photo.
Technical (Color, focus, and light):
Focus: Focus is ok.
Color: The colors look surreal, especially the contrast between the orange bricks and the deep / dark blue sky & clouds. And the color in the water.
Light: It looks like you've used a major-fill-light to light up the building. Weird, huh!
I just can't get my head with the how and the why you did it. Some details of the post-processing might be very interesting.
Overall, after looking at your image for a long time, I still can't tell what to think about it. And I think that's good :)
I hope you've found this critique helpful. Good luck with future challenges! |

Cool shot man! Is that from the bridge on Michigan ave? I like the processing you did. Suits the image and gives it a majestic, surreal feeling. Nice job :-) |

Stellar. I cannot believe this is yours. Heck it looks like a painting. Killer light and editing. Wow. I don't normally like architecture that much but this is extraordinary. Favorites. |

Woah! Drama galore! I enjoy the contrast of the bright orange building and the dark blue sky. The title works well with the subject. Long exposure to make the water so glassy? Nice idea. Feels like a drawing out of a graphic novel - a little artificial to me, but that is a matter of taste. |

My first thought was a little overprossesed but I after going back I think the process is perfect for this picture. I love the feel of this. |

This image meets the challenge of creatively capturing an interesting photograph of architecture NOT as most images in this challenge are a photograph of interesting acrchitecture! |

This is in Lansing, I think? The almost cartoon-like level of colour saturation is effective here; it gives the building an energetic character and presence entirely consistent with its function. The chosen exposure has also transformed the water into a surreal baseboard for this lovely (art deco?) industrial building ... makes it look a bit like a model rather than the real structure. Clever & thoughtful work. 8. |

Using a new formula....
0-2 Meets the Challenge = 2
0-2 Technical Merit = 2
0-4 Interest/Creativity = 2
0-2 The "wow factor" = 0
Final score: 6 |

Nice sky. Love the moodiness. Maybe it was burned just a tad too much. Nice composition and colors. 7 |

Way overprocessed/saturated for my taste, bordering on digital art. |

Simiply amazng. The best exposure thus far. The colors on the brick are sutnning and the glassy effect on the water really make for a sereal image. Good job. |

Pretty cool looking. The colors work. The only thing I'm not too fond of is the gray cloud. I think it would have looked better if you made that blue like the rest of the cloud cover. |
