Challenge: Still Life II (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Nikon D70
Location: chicago
Date: May 16, 2006
Aperture: f3.5
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/200
Galleries: Emotive, Still Life
Date Uploaded: May 16, 2006

taken at an antique store in the city. it was hanging from the roof and spinning in the wind comeing through the opening and closing door as people came in and out of the store.

cought it with my 135mm fix nikor f3.5 manual lens

had to wait for a still moment and though because of its potentional to move if instructed it makes quite the juxtoposition for this challenge being that it is not indeed moving but could...it is truly still life...

(i am also bored of setting staged shots up at home so i will say anything to make it fit.)

Nice idea! the lighting on the face is a little too strong... probably difficult to adjust for considering the glossy finish.

This does not meet the challenge - inanimate but not an arranged composition of objects.
I'm wrong, it counts - extra points...

I gave this photo a 1 because it didn't seem to me to fulfill my expectation of a "still life," a classic form of artfully arranged objects. Call me narrow minded but that's the way I see it.

A still life generally brings together a number of elements arranged into a pleasing grouping. A closeup doesn't allow for the element of the arrangement to come into play. Interesting shot, though.
