 Japanese bath - nice and deep.
I had my remote control trigger in a plastic bag so it wouldn't get wet.

Only light was the bathroom light. I had WB set to tungsten, but still used the Color cast changer in PS Elements.

Post Challenge: Well, that's three comments about me looking like Jean Reno. He's fairly well-known here in Japan - so I get that comment every now and then. BUT, he has a large hooked nose whereas mine's beautiful - and he's at least 12 years older than me...

OMG, this is priceless! I love this shot! First, the photographic comments - it's clean, well lit, nicely balanced light-wise (good choice using tungsten) and nicely balanced compositionally, too. I even like the pale yellow border that echoes the line/moulding of the tub wall. Second - the self-portrait part - this tells me that you have one heckuva sense of humor and a sense of just plain fun! Awesome job, David!

Man, I bet you hate the movie 'Wasabi'... It's pretty popular here in TW too... Comes on the TV quite often and there's always a copy of it in every video store...

Being a pretty major fan of Jean Reno myself (actually, I like his characters but I can't stand some of the movies he picks... probably more like most...), I would say that the facial expression captures some of the better qualities in his style...

It looks so very Franco-Italian...

Of course, your intent was not to portray Jean, but to portray yourself...

On that, I think you did very well... Indeed, seeing as the first thing that jumps to my mind is Jean, I would say that you pretty much nailed the technicals...

This should have scored a fair bit higher IMHO...

You clearly have a rapport with your models - who seem to positively adore you. This insight into your private life is brave and revealing - although you seem to be slightly indignant that you've intruded on your own special moment with this self-portrait.

Good use of space to highlight your desolate - no, tragic - social condition.

This is a great photograph.... Briljant, with a perfect look on the face. A moment of being yourself. Cool that the little duck on the side of the bath is asking for some attention (play with me too)....
