::: Critique Club :::

Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.

Interesting to do a critique on your image but it is difficult if you don't give us any information in your photographers comments. When we do a critique, we go past just the photographic result, that's what voters comments do. The critique looks at what you were trying to achieve, how you wanted it to look and what issues you had in getting the image captured and ready for voting.

First Impression - the most important one:
This is worthy! .. what a great shot .. the post processing is a little OTT .. but what a capture.

Composition:
Appears centred. But this still hasn't done it bad. crop more of the bike away put her head on thirds and that would create a slightly different image ... it may work .. or not ...

Subject:
meets the challenge ... she is in her environment and you didn't crop it oput .. great work.

Technical (Colour and light):
I like the black and white here ... often used to much here it has helped to make the image and create emotion for the shot.

To grow its vote?:
Its the overuse of the sharpening or neat image that has hampered your awesome efforts. When you use these tools .. I always use undo redo .. to make sure that I have not killed the shot ... try that see if it helps ...

Summary:
Great work .. you are defiantely one to watch!

If you've got any questions about this critique, please feel free to contact me via the PM system.

Cheers

Kari

A little too clean looking (considering what I think you are trying to convey; a homeless person or less fortunate in the realm of material environment). I could be wrong. Still a nice capture of life.

This to me seems more of a candid than a portrait. It seems to be over sharpened or neat imaged.

Wonderful shot, simple and elaborate at the same time. B&W is a good decision.

Beautiful though it looks over neatimage-ed. It has a kind of plastic feel to it. Still a beautiful capture and nice natural expressions.8.
