Went out, took loads of photos for night shot, but only had noise reduction turned on for the last two!! grrrr Others were 40-60s exposure, and completely unusable.

So, not my best shot, hoping for a 5.2

@CRITIQUE TRADING POST
please please spend your time on someone else's this week, instead of this, as I mentioned in the thread

Thanks :)

hello again,

sorry for the delay on this one.

i like the concept immensely. though i have a serious problem with it leaning. ifn you would have put this straight up and down (you could have done that in photoshop) i believe this would have done gallons better.

very nice shot. well suited to the challenge.

Trading POst -
Doesnt look like anyone took heed to your request in the thread - so I will join the pack. I may have cropped out the piece of light that shows up on the left - keeping that side as complete shadow. With that mayeb rotating the shot so that the left line of the building is parallel to the frame. Sharpness and detail i nthe building is good. Overall not a really bad shot - just not very interesting in general.

I like the lighting but there are a few things that could be fixed, I know this is basic editing so I'll keep to those boundaries...

I think the tower is leaning too much, rotating the picture to get it straight is allowed.
the light behind the tower should be cropped out, it does nothing but distract.
and I find the tower to be too centered in the image, but by cropping the light behind the building away I think the tower will be much better positioned in the image.

I like the lighting in this photo. I would have cropped the left side out of the picture to get rid of the competing slice of brickwork and to reposition the tower off-center to take advantage of the rule of thirds. The focus is clear, the colors good. I gave it a 5 during voting (joining the vast number of people who did likewise).

I've entered shots only because I made the effort to go shoot for a challenge and figured if I'd done that much, I may as well enter. For one of those kinds of shots, this one is fine. At first I thought it might look better straightened up a bit, but I tried it, and I like it your way much better.

Trading post...
I don't think 5 more minutes to look at and comment on your photograph is any impostion. I like the lighting and angle. Maybe a small crop on the left hand side to eliminate that small bright spot. That way it would fade to black on that side and you wouldn't be able to see that small piece of fence.

But I want to spend some time on yours, too. I like it. I like the composition that you chose, I like the towering effect that it has, and I like the exposure on it. I have been in this position many, many times, and just submitted something that I didn't like. I think that we can still learn from these, if not learn more. Frustrated or not, still spend a little time in post-processing. This one would have pulled at least another half point with a little straightening and cropping. Thanks for the offer to pass you up, and I look forward to nest week's submission.

The shot's OK, but I find it uninteresting.

Building seems to be leaning over backwards. Was it?

IMHO this would have more appeal if it were cropped and straightened. The building appears to be leaning backwards, maybe this is how it really is but I think that difficult to discern with all the shadow. The shot itself has nice clarity and the building is interesting.

love the shot, angle really effective, (pity there isn't a moon available - nature eh:-)

I feel that this is slightly on the wonk and should be rotated a degree or so clockwise. And it is a litle bit flat like it need a contrast. I hope this will help you.
