::: Critique Club :::

Hi, Oelof ... my name is Kari and I am from the critique club.

I seem to have the pleasure of being your first critique club critiquer ... I hope my words help .. Remember that this is my opinion and mine along .. always take into account many views .. cos that way you will grown.

Interesting to do a critique on your image but it is difficult if you don't give us any information in your photographers comments. When we do a critique, we go past just the photographic result, that's what voters comments do. The critique looks at what you were trying to achieve, how you wanted it to look and what issues you had in getting the image captured and ready for voting.

First Impression - the most important one:
ok I am not a huge fan of pet pics .. but these guys seem to be ok ... the picture itself seems upside down ... but I looked at all the other directions and they don't seem to work ... so this may be the best way for this shot.

Composition:
I like to think through the rules ... the rule of thirds .. trying to hit main points on the vertical and horizontal thirds for interest points ... leading lines ... this takes the eye into the picture ... they don't seem to be here ... but this may be due to the crop used .. perhaps a little tight ... remembering that the theme is to show environement ...

Subject:
yeah .. this is harsh but true .. I think that people could not seem this meeting the challenge . ... It is always good to think outside the square .. some of us do that lots ... but we also have to think about meeting the challenge within the scope of what we think will work. I think that next to a warm fire .. or on a sull fluffy couch you would have an enviroment as well as a dog and cat sleeping.

Technical (Colour and light):
I am not sure what you did to get the shot .. so can't really discuss this area. But it looks fine and sharp.

To grow its vote?:
Meet the challenge ... and challenge to meet .. always challenge yourself and your way of thinking.

Summary:
Good work .. I think you hae an eye .. and should keep it up.

If you've got any questions about this critique, please feel free to contact me via the PM system.

Cheers

Kari

Environmental portrait? Don't see any environment

This is more of a family album type shot, not what I consider a portrait.
