This is a full crop. The original had the mom in the shot, but I liked the baby face peeking out of the frame. I did everything in Photoshop that one can do, and probably too much: Layer masks, duotone, shadow / highlight, curves, dodge & burn, etc.

First off, I'd like to say well done on a fantastic image! There isn't a lot to improve in this shot at all, it's almost perfect. I personally am surprised as to how it didn't achieve a higher rating. However, I'll have a go at trying to offer some form of explanation...

The primary reason I think for not going further in this competition is the relevance to the competition. Apart from the name you gave your picture, there seems to be very little to do with film in your photograph, compared to some of the other images in this challenge, which contain much more epic moments that we can really visualise on the big screen.

I get the feeling (although I may be wrong) that after taking such a perfect photograph, you felt that you had to enter it into one of the competitions, which is what a lot of people do these days and every now and then one of them pulls through. Your audience who would vote this image highly is also slightly limited as I can see many people might regard this as just yet another animal photograph.

Overall, I'd say that there is nothing I can really say to improve this image. You're clearly very skilled with your camera and editing processes.

Unlucky about this image, but I sense much better results coming from you in the future! Good Luck!

There is not a good contrast with the background for me.

Wonderful black and white, love the curly textures and cute fuzzy face. I have a child, I'll go for it.

This is a very good photo.
something the DPC community should try more than those boring stock images, sigh.

I want to see this movie! Cute capture and I like the shallow DOF, blurring the background.

Okay, but no bonus points for making me want to see it. I'd only see it if my 2 year old hijacked the remote control.

Dark sephia for a children movie? Lovely anyways, but such a poster should be colorful as nothing else.

Sweet. Maybe a stretch for a movie, but I love the DOF and the adorable lamb. 7
