I think it is a just fine, well shot, well cropped, very honest portrait shot.
I do agree that the nose and beads are just a tad overblown and might be helped a bit by taking this image into PhotoShop and going into levels and pulling back on the output whites just a tad ... if you have PhotoShop ... If not ... just pull back on the brightness a bit in any image editor as I don't think the rest would suffer too much if you did.
If I was gonna be fussy, I would say some noise reduction could help this a bit to make it look more smooth.
I very much like that this looks very candid and captured rather than posed. This is definitely NOT your average "snapshot" |

Wonderful. Nice sideways glance. The use of negative space, with her looking that way, is perfect. Great image. |

Heh I was going to bemoan the flying hair, but thats just me :) I actually don't think its really that bad and it adds to the mood of the photo. I also really like the pose/facial expression and the lighting is pretty good, but maybe just a little bit too harsh. The big blowout on the nose is most noticible but the necklace is also gone. A little bit more diffusion I think and this would be excellent. One other thing you might think about is lightening up the eyes just a little bit more either with other lighting techniques next time or in post-processing! |

Nice shot! I like the overall flow to the composition and the "not perfect" feel to it all, although I am sure others on here would bemoan the flying hair here and there. For me, it makes it more natural, almost a candid-like shot. Amazing what you can do with two bits of card! |
