I know the score on this will suck but hey, this is an image my paper would print. And do, about once per week.

Probably, a smiling kid or smiling old person will win. Oh well.

Courtenay this is AWESOME! I gave it on of your 4 10's! Such a perfect capture with the little catcher looking up expectantly at the umpire with all the dust flying everywhere. I love it!!! Just added it to my favorites so I can see it often :)

I think this might have more impact if it were in colour.

Great action moment. The only thing better would've been the look on everyone's faces as they react to the call. I think it was in the sports shooting tutorial where it was mentioned that great sports shots don't always show the action of the play, but sometimes the reactions to it.

I wish there wasn't so much dust in the foreground, but I bet you couldn't do anything about that.

This could of been a great b&w. But, the whites are too blown the blacks are too black. A good b&w needs texture in the hightlights and shadows.

The picture itself is good. I get emotional value from the ump. If however I did not see any facial expressions, then the emotional value would be lost.
