 Perth city, viewed from South Perth foreshore. Entered a similar pic in the 'Square Crop' challenge, which did very poorly. Let's see if I've learned from my previous mistakes...

Cropped, straightened, bumped saturation and contrast just a little, resized, border, small amount of USM.

Greetings from the Critique CLub -

Now this is one cool shot. I have no personal experience with long shutter speeds so from that technical point of view I cant make anyt serious comments outside of the fact that whatever you did worked really well. The lines in the reflection are pretty wild.

Your detail and focus on the cityscape is very nice. A part of me thinks that it might be just a tad bit better had you cropped a little more on the left hand side or had some extra space on the right. It feels a bit off balance with the building on the far right and nothing on the left to counter it. But overall this is just nitpicking on my part - I think you have a tremendous shot and so did the DPC audience.

Well done and congrats on your top 20 placement.

Ah..I figured this was yours. Considering I think there is only 3 or 4 active members from Perth and one of them lives with me it narrowed it down a fair bit! ;)

Very sparkly and hard-edged! I wish the signs in the skyline were not so "hot" as they keep pulling my attention from the more subtle and intricate lines along the shore.

So many people try, you did with great succes. Those reflections are absolutely stunning. I gather it is water, but you have made it look like ice or steel. Really well done. A 9, but on the verge of a 10. I seldom hand these out, but I just might come back and change my mind.
Back again, for the 4th time .... just went to the top. Hope it does well.

notice the reflections on the water appear more like printing error than actual reflections? not sure how other voters will take it, but I think it's rather cool - its so uniform!

This is a beautiful capture, but I am a bit partial to night photography. Everything is perfectly straight, and the focus is very crisp. I really like the flowing colors that leads the eye up from the bottom of the photo and into the city. Well seen and very well captured.

OK, really picky here, but the horizon seems off kilter. I know, i'm probably smoking something but just bugs me. If it is straight please forgive and send me a reference to a good eye doctor. But, im a sucker for these kinds of shots so 10 minus 1 for the horizon =9

Wow! The reflected lights look like a multi-colour bar-code! That water is STILL! That makes this more than another "night lights reflected in water" shot. Good one!
