Lovely portrait, though the lighting really could be improved, only because it renders the photo a bit flat in my opinion. I believe that more defined shadows in the face, or on the chest, add much interest, but of course still depending on the mood you're trying to create. The light's a bit yellow, which is immediately noticeable. The focus is kind of soft. Mostly, a portrait really needs to engage the viewer, and this usually occurs at the eyes; so, a strong catchlight in the eyes or direct contact with the viewer is usually preferred (again depending on the overall effect intended).
But overall, it is a lovely portrait well composed. |
